rofessor Sergey Bolotin is retiring this fall after 19 years. He started with the Math department in 2001 as an associate professor, getting full professor status in 2002.
He’s looking forward to returning to his native Russia and spending time with his wife’s grandchildren, but hasn’t ruled out a return to Madison and the possibility of a return to teaching. Of Madison, he said he’d miss the wonderful and kind people, who seem to thrive in the cold winters we experience here.
